At PlusKids we celebrated the National Day and talked to the children about courage, unity and love of country.
We showed them that Romania is not only history and traditions but also its people — kind, cheerful, hard-working and full of imagination, just like them. For a seven-year-old, a date in a textbook stays a date; the idea that a country is made of people like the ones they see every day, on the other hand, is something they can grasp at once.
Through play we helped the little ones discover the beauty of our country: places, customs, folk dress, food and stories from different regions. We talked about what it means to be proud of where you live without that meaning other places do not count — a nuance children grasp more easily than one might expect.
Because Romania's future is built every day, in every child, in every small effort made with care.
