On 15 January we celebrate National Culture Day, the day Mihai Eminescu was born.
We marked it too, with verse read and heard together. At primary-school age poetry is learned first by ear: rhythm and rhyme are caught before meaning, and a child repeats a line because it sounds good, not because they were told to. The meaning comes later, sometimes years later, and the line waits there for it, already known by heart.
That is precisely why a day like this needs no long explanations. It is enough for the poetry to be heard, said aloud and allowed to be enjoyed.
