A Learning Advent Calendar for December

For December we prepared a Learning Advent Calendar for the children — a surprise in which learning is woven into the magic of the holidays.

Each day the little ones find two things: a worksheet that builds one specific skill — writing, logic, attention, maths, language — and a small themed craft, good for creativity and fine motor skills.

The calendar format does almost all the work for us. December is the month when children's concentration dips most, and anything that resembles a lesson meets resistance. A box that opens once a day, with a surprise inside, shifts the focus entirely: the child is not waiting for the exercise, they are waiting for the day. And the exercise comes with it.

The hidden benefit is rhythm. One short worksheet a day, done consistently for a month, is worth more than a long session done now and then — and it is far easier to keep up, for the child and the parent alike.

We want December to be a month in which children enjoy themselves, learn and create all at once.
