At PlusKids, the preparatory class means planned lessons, teaching and consolidation — not merely supervision after school. The difference shows best in an activity like this one.
The children set off on a maths adventure to Planet Cifron, where they had an important mission: to find the odd and even number monsters and put each one in its right place. The story is not decoration but a tool. A six-year-old struggles to remember a rule stated in the abstract, yet remembers perfectly well who belongs where and why.
Through play, observation and practice, the children learned to recognise odd and even numbers, to compare them and to group them correctly. They arrived at the pattern that repeats every second number on their own and checked it one by one — which is something entirely different from being handed it ready-made.
The activity helped them grasp an important mathematical idea in a way that was engaging and suited to their age — and the idea sticks, because it was discovered rather than memorised.
At PlusKids we follow the school curriculum, teach concepts step by step and prepare special activities that help children genuinely understand what they are working on. We want every child to gain confidence, courage and the pleasure of learning.
