Summer School has begun at PlusKids, and the first week was given over to the theme "Aloha Summer".
We prepared a summer full of adventure, in which the children had varied activities and teachers ready to give them a genuine educational experience. The idea we started from is simple: a holiday should not be a three-month void, but nor should it be an extension of school. So we built the programme around themes — each week has its own world, which the child enters on Monday morning and leaves on Friday, with something new learned.
Across the eleven summer weeks, the children discovered Hawaiian secrets, travelled into space, learned about the human body and did maths — all of it in an interactive way, working more with their hands and their voices than with an exercise book.
Our team of passionate, qualified teachers was ready to give the children a summer in which they could socialise, build new skills and study English alongside a Cambridge CELTA-certified teacher. Places for the first weeks had already been taken before the start, and enrolment carried on for the rest of the summer.
