"Around the world — a tour of sights and flavours" started in style.
The first stop was France, a day in which the children explored the culture, the landmarks and the delicacies of the country. We talked about the Eiffel Tower — how fiercely it was opposed at first and how it became the best-known symbol of Paris — and about famous painters, many of whom they already knew from art week.
Then we savoured fresh baguettes and colourful macarons, just as in the heart of Paris. The culinary part is no indulgence: for a child, a country becomes memorable the moment they can taste it, and the difference between ordinary bread and a real baguette sticks better than any map.
The children learned through play, discovered new tastes and new words, and travelled beyond borders in their imagination. A day of smiles, curiosity and great enthusiasm — and the week had only just begun, with other destinations waiting.
