This is how the PlusKids project began, one year ago.
A year after that first step, the record looked like this: over 150 happy children had come through our door and learned new things, we had two sites on the school lane in Măgurele and an 800-square-metre yard with lawn and playgrounds. We had a Cambridge CELTA certified teacher for the English courses and the only computing, Scratch programming and robotics courses in Măgurele.
The facilities kept pace: an interactive smart board, a computer lab with twelve machines, projectors and a smart TV. We also started a centre of excellence in mathematics, preparing children for olympiads and national examinations. And for parents we built an app showing in real time their child's attendance at after school along with invoices and payments.
Of all of these, the last was the closest to our hearts, because it says something about how we understand our relationship with parents: information about your own child and your own money should be one click away, not something you have to ask for.
