From today we have a new surprise: your favourite books reach you free of charge, through the subscription PlusKids offers on the Bookster platform, for the children and parents of our before and after school.
Bookster is the platform that brings books closer to people. It holds titles from very different fields, from personal and professional development to hobbies and fiction, alongside thousands of articles, videos, ebooks and podcasts.
The reason we wanted the subscription to cover parents too, not only children, is simple: the reading habit is not passed on through recommendations but through example. A child who sees an adult at home reading for their own pleasure understands that reading is something you do, not something you are asked to do. And a book that turns up at home without being homework changes the relationship with reading entirely.
The second reason is access. A child who can choose for themselves from a long list, rather than being handed an assigned title, is far more likely to finish that book. Choosing for yourself is half of the reading.
