Christmas is drawing near and we are happily getting ready for the holidays.
December has a rhythm of its own at after school. Homework still comes first, but around it appear the ornaments, the decorations and the preparations made by the children themselves. This is the time of year when handiwork makes the most sense: what comes out of their hands is then put up somewhere in plain sight, and the room they learn in every day changes before their eyes.
The waiting is in fact the loveliest part of the celebration, and children live it most intensely. So we take our time: the preparing, day after day, matters as much as the day itself.
