On Education Day we send a big thank you to all teachers, pupils and parents.
Education is not only about marks and homework. It is about growing together, learning from one another and building a better future for us all. Marks are simply how we measure, now and then, a small part of the journey; the rest — curiosity, patience, the way a child gets back up after a mistake — never appears in the register, yet weighs more.
On a day like this it is worth remembering how much learning depends on the people around us. A teacher with patience changes a child's relationship with an entire subject. A parent who asks "what did you discover today" instead of "what mark did you get" changes how a child relates to school. And a classmate explaining something in their own words sometimes succeeds where the textbook did not.
We take joy in all the achievements, small and large, that have brought us here, and we carry on smiling towards all the adventures still to come. Warmest wishes to everyone who loves learning.
