After the morning planning meeting, the whole PlusKids team celebrated Education Day with an outing in town.
We spent a good few hours together, strengthening our team spirit. We took pleasure in our own achievements and those of the children, and made plans for new activities, using modern teaching methods, for the period ahead.
An after-school team works, most of the time, in parallel: each with their own group, each on their own schedule. The moments when everybody sits down at the same table are few, and they are precisely the ones where things come together — observations about the children are compared, solutions that worked with one group are borrowed by another, and matters that would otherwise be discussed hastily in the corridor finally get settled.
Education Day is, for us, a good occasion to take stock: what has worked, what deserves changing and what we are setting out to do in the months ahead.
