We have launched an extra maths programme for primary-school children, grades I–IV, focused on building skills, understanding mathematical logic and achieving good results at school.
We do not work by rote. A child who has learned an algorithm by heart solves the textbook exercise correctly and then freezes at the first question worded differently. So we help them understand maths step by step, think logically, do their homework independently and gain confidence in their own abilities — and good marks then follow naturally, as the result of solid foundations rather than as the goal itself.
In class we work on mathematical skills, on solving exercises and problems correctly and tidily, on logical thinking and organising the steps of a solution, on doing homework unaided, and on preparing for school tests and assessments.
Organising the steps deserves a separate mention, because it is the part most often overlooked. Many mistakes in the early grades come not from not knowing the operation but from disorder on the page: a skipped line, a digit written crookedly, a step held in the head instead of written down. A tidy exercise book solves a good share of the errors on its own.
We work in small groups, with individual attention, in a calm and friendly environment where a child feels safe to ask questions and to get things wrong. All materials — exercise books, tests, worksheets — are included.
