World Teachers' Day is marked every year on 5 October and highlights the role played by teachers around the world, as well as the responsibility they carry in educating future generations.
It is a good day for the children too, not only for those being celebrated. At their age, the teacher is the adult they see most after their parents, and their relationship with that adult largely decides what they think of school for years to come. A child who feels seen asks questions when they do not understand — and everything else follows from there.
At PlusKids we celebrated Education Day with activities designed to appeal to the children, and the loveliest part was, as always, what they had to say. Thanks offered simply, in their own words, are the reward that stays with you.
