Catching up and consolidating: support for children who have fallen behind
We know that children sometimes fail to fully grasp everything they are taught at school, and that this can be discouraging. At PlusKids we are here to support them and to give them the chance to make progress at their own pace, in a warm and friendly setting.
We help them catch up and consolidate. We help them understand lessons better and gain confidence in their own abilities. Discouragement sets in fast at this age, and along a predictable path: the child did not grasp one step, the next day they do not dare ask, and within two weeks they have decided they are "no good at maths". Calmly going back over the missing step usually unpicks the whole chain.
We adapt activities so that every child feels encouraged and motivated. They do not all need the same thing: one needs another example, another needs more time, another simply needs quiet in order to work without comparing themselves with the child at the next desk.
We combine play and creativity with learning, so that each day is both enjoyable and productive. And we keep track of concrete progress — in homework, reading, writing or maths — because the best proof that a child can do something is seeing for themselves that they managed what they could not manage yesterday.
The children go home with all their homework done, with a smile and with more confidence in their own abilities. For us, every child is a success story.
