Today we travelled into the world of "The Gingerbread Man".
The children explored the universe of this captivating story, taking part in activities full of creativity. The tale has a structure the little ones grasp at once: a chase, a series of pursuers who join one by one, and a refrain that returns at every encounter. It is the repetition that makes it memorable and easy to retell — and retelling is the exercise that interests us most, because it shows whether the narrative thread has genuinely been understood.
Their efforts were rewarded when they got to decorate the gingerbread lovingly prepared by Cristiana Ghiță. The smell of cinnamon and orange filled the room and created an atmosphere in which we felt the true spirit of the season.
Beyond the obvious delight, decorating has a serious side: it demands patience, a steady hand and the acceptance that not much can be corrected. The children work slowly, compare themselves with one another far less than they do when drawing, and see the job through to the end, because the result gets eaten.
