We had a lovely week with the children, built entirely around Easter.
We held creative workshops and experiments. We had great fun making Easter decorations, letting the children's imagination and talent do the work, and the little ones were thrilled to see a few experiments with eggs too. An egg is a surprisingly good object for science at their age: it has a shape that holds up far better than it looks, a shell that reacts, contents that change with heat. Many discoveries start from something so ordinary that nobody would have thought to look at it closely.
There were stories and relaxed conversations as well. We talked about what Easter means and about how to enjoy the holiday with warmth and respect for those around us. That brought us to love, tolerance and care for others — values that are easier to discuss on days like these, when the children are in a fitting mood anyway.
We also had a moment of quiet reflection, in which we remembered to be grateful for what we have and to think of the good of others. A short pause of stillness in an otherwise busy week has its effect: the children stop, and when asked, say surprisingly mature things.
Games and themed contests were not missing either, with prizes that brought smiles and strengthened the team spirit.
