PlusKids brought the bees and their stories into the middle of the children's day, during Summer School 2022.
The children saw a bee colony and touched a drone — discovering, on that occasion, that a drone does not sting, for the simple reason that it has no sting. It is the kind of detail that turns a fear around completely: a child who shies away from anything that flies suddenly learns that not all bees are the same, and that fear can be replaced with a question.
We tasted honeycomb and honey and made a candle from natural beeswax. The journey from hive to candle, made with your own hands, explains better than any diagram what wax is for and why nothing in a hive goes to waste.

A world without bees cannot exist — and the children understood that not from a slogan, but after seeing how much work lies behind a spoonful of honey.
