"Time travel" week started strongly, and its first two days took the children into two completely different worlds.
On the first day we went back to the Stone Age, where curious children explored the world of our ancestors. With their hands full of clay, they shaped pots as people did in antiquity and learned about old traditions. Modelling does something no picture can: when you try to make a pot yourself that stands upright and does not crack, you understand how much craft hides inside an object you would have glanced at for three seconds in a museum.
The next day we weighed anchor and entered the age of piracy. Our little ones became true captains hunting for treasure and unpicked mysterious clues. A treasure hunt is, in essence, a chain of problems: each clue leads to the next only if it has been read carefully and understood correctly. Children who rush soon end up in a dead end and have to come back — and the lesson about reading attentively is learned far better there than on a worksheet.
The journey carried on with many more activities, designed not only to entertain the little ones but to help them grow in a balanced way: every era brought a different craft, different vocabulary and a different way of solving a problem.
