Super Mario week: challenges, interactive worksheets and plenty of imagination
This week the children ventured into the world of Super Mario, and every day was full of interactive worksheets, creative activities and moments of enjoyable learning.
A well-chosen game universe does part of the work before the lesson even starts. The children already know the rules of that world, they know what a level is, what an extra life is and what a challenge you have to clear means — so an exercise presented as a "level" needs no introduction at all. They get straight to work.
More importantly, a level structure normalises something that is often a problem in class: temporary failure. In a game, nobody minds if you did not clear it first time; you go back and try differently. That is exactly what we ask of a child who gets an exercise wrong, except that, put in the language of games, it lands far more easily.
Our young explorers put their imagination to work, solved challenges and learned through play. Every activity at PlusKids is designed with a clear purpose: to stimulate creativity, curiosity and the desire to learn.
