The PlusKids Summer School opened with a week full of magic, imagination and the joy of discovery: The World of Stories.
On the first day we stepped together into the fascinating universe of Alice in Wonderland. The children explored the characters and the events, followed each situation in turn and discovered a story that resists easy summary — which is exactly what makes it so good for discussion. When the logic of a story turns upside down on every page, children have to explain to themselves what just happened, and that is worth more than any comprehension question.
Our activities are integrated, designed so that every story becomes a complete learning experience. We read and retell, to practise understanding a text. We draw, to turn words into pictures. We count, because every story hides numbers if you know where to look. We talk and work in teams, because the most is learned when you have to explain something to someone else. And imagination develops step by step, not through one spectacular activity but through all of them together.
Over the following days the adventure continued with beloved tales such as Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk and The Giant Turnip. Each day brought a new world to discover and fresh educational challenges.
At PlusKids, stories come to life and learning becomes an adventure.
