A summer where children have fun and catch up on the syllabus

Summer has a problem that is rarely mentioned: three months off wipe out part of what was learned with such effort during the year. Not because children forget quickly, but because any skill left unused fades — fluent reading as much as the times tables.

That is why the PlusKids Summer School is not merely a supervision programme for the holidays. The themed weeks bring plenty of educational activities, and the lessons are built to turn learning into something enjoyable. We use modern technology where it genuinely helps — for the repeated practice that would otherwise become tiring — and keep pencil-and-paper work where nothing can replace it.

The part that benefits most the children who have had a harder year is building skills and catching up on the syllabus, done in an educational and entertaining way. Summer has an advantage the school year does not: there are no marks and no hurry. A child can quietly go back over exactly what they did not understand, without feeling they are losing ground.

Every week the programme includes English lessons twice a week, taught by a CELTA-certified Cambridge teacher.

At PlusKids children get an education that combines technology with learning through play, and the result shows in September, when getting back into the rhythm of school is no longer a shock.
