On Saturday, at PlusKids in Măgurele, we had the honour of presenting awards to the children who successfully passed the Cambridge exam. We are proud of our pupils and of their progress.
A Cambridge certificate is not a certificate of attendance. It is an external assessment, with the same criteria anywhere in the world, and the child who earns one knows that the result does not depend on who prepared them. For a primary-school pupil this is the first confirmation of its kind — and it shows in the way they look at their English from the next day onwards.
We are the only centre in Măgurele with a Cambridge teacher who accompanies the pupils to the testing session. Olga Testova gives them the support and the confidence they need to succeed, and the presence of a familiar face on exam day matters more than it seems at an age when nerves can wipe out everything you have learned.
Another reason to celebrate: this year we received our official Cambridge preparation centre certificate — recognition of our work and of the standards we uphold.
